Senior Manager of Compensation
The role of Senior Manager of Compensation will help design and deliver both Restaurant and Corporate compensation strategies and programs to ensure business and talent alignment. This role will provide technical and analytical expertise, as well as leadership on key processes and projects. This position will lead, develop and manage a team of analysts
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with the PeopleWorks (HR) team and business leaders to help design, implement, communicate and administer compensation programs that align talent with the business goals and strategy.
The Senior Manager works across boundaries to innovate and execute the Compensation strategy to positively impact our 4 Key Results: Engaging Team Members, Bringing Back Guests, Growing Sales and Increasing Profits. This position will report directly to the Director of Total Rewards for Brinker.
The Key Job Functions
  • Design and manage reward programs that are aligned with business objectives and talent strategy, linking pay to performance, while partnering with Finance in setting goals and monitoring performance levels of incentive plans.
  • Administer and maintain broad based base pay management including salary structures
  • Lead the planning, evaluation and administration of the quarterly and annually paid restaurant bonus programs for all 1,000 company owned restaurants
  • Oversee the participation in salary surveys and analysis of survey data to conduct job evaluations and market studies
  • Lead the annual salary budgeting and increase process, and evaluate current and future tools to maximize these function for the company
  • Lead and develop the team of analysts to help them grow their career and expand their experiences within Compensation
  • Consult with and influence both peers and executive level relationships inside and outside of PeopleWorks (HR)
  • Oversee the Company’s 401(k) plan administration, annual audits, and other fiduciary responsibilities related to the plan
  • Monitor accounting, tax and other compensation related laws, regulations and trends to ensure internal program compliance and effective designs
  • Manage compensation and retirement plans to meet regulatory compliance and governance/audit requirements, consult with legal resources and stay informed of developing legislation and its potential impact.
  • Partner in the design of effective compensation-related communications and program rollouts to management for approval and to Team Members
  • Participate and lead a variety of projects as needed in support of competitive compensation programs and initiatives.

  • The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR Management, Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline.
  • At least 7 years of direct professional level experience, and at least 2 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • CCP, PHR, SPHR preferred.
  • Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced constantly evolving team environment.
  • Data driven mindset- ability to influence, drive decisions and lead discussion utilizing data.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze, listen, clarify, solve problems and work independently.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills required.
  • Restaurant/Retail operations experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong influencing skills.
