The Area Sales Manager, located in Oklahoma (covering Oklahoma City, Norman, Edmond and Tulsa), will have primary responsibility for working with the regional catering office, assigned units, UCM, catering assistants and public to ensure a sound consistent Catering Department is developed within their assigned area and that they develop a team to focus on an aggressive sales growth plan. This position, reporting directly to the Regional Catering Manager and the Area Director of Operations works with and assist all operations in sales building and client relationships. Their primary focus is sales building for their area and they will be tied to an aggressive sales growth plan.
The main components and tactics for this position include: Departmental organization: - Implement all marketing tools, including: Menus, business cards, signs and banners. Insure units receive and install all promotional packages on time. - Assist the creation of a sound Catering department at each unit working hand in hand with UCM. - Assist coordinating specialty events through UCM. - Support operators with off site trade shows, expos, concession style venues, and large event planning and taste functions. - Work as PR agent on large events. - Work with UCM to coordinate staffing requirements for upcoming events. - Maintain contact with all General Managers and Area Directors to ensure strong communication of department initiatives. - Work through regional office on all bookings while supporting local event planning and supervision of execution. - Conduct quarterly guest surveys and communicate feedback to UCM, GM, CTR MG and CD. - Present clients with promotional opportunities and facilitate area sales programs. - Ensure equipment requirements are communicated to UCM and Gm for upcoming events. - Ensure proper supplies are coordinated and maintained. Client Relations: - Assist handling all Catering inquiries. - Meet with clients and support event planning. Act as a liaison for guest and booking. - Actively pursue all catering opportunities. - Insure the very best customer experience to each and every patron. - Report all complaints to UCM with a CC: to GM, and CTR MG. Complete any action on guest follow up. Manage escalated guest recovery. - Network with all potential partners to build maximum exposure for brand and catering. Sales Objectives - Develop targeted sales plans to achieve catering sales goals with AD(s), CTR MG and CD. - Maintain sales business plan: including, but not limited to in-house sales programs promoting outside sales for assigned territory, major client development, implement all internal marketing aids working through UCM and provide print work for ad request approved by Director. - Produce new business through catering related activities through local business, planning groups and associations while maintaining a professional relationship with existing accounts. - Maintain detailed client list - Assist in marketing brand - Seek potential venues for catering while obtaining solid return - Work through booking office on all contracts and maintain current retail pricing. All contracts written below market retail will need to secure AD and CTR MG approval. Promotional opportunities can be solicited to GM or AD. - Pursue partnerships with outside sources- Concession; facilities open to offsite caterers, festivals, special events, and event planners… - Assist in developing sales force with UCM’s and GM’s - Work as a PR agent on all large offsite functions - Work with each Ad in identifying community event to leverage brand awareness - Complete monthly sales planners and initiate local sales programs that support department focus - Participate in monthly conference calls and complete assignments as given by CD. In addition, the following reports are to be completed and sent to the Catering Manager every month: - Expense reports - Monthly Planner, CC: CD - Weekly Sales Tracker Job Requirements: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent organizational skills. Must have great phone skills. Must have strong math skills. Great Sales skills Catering Experience Strong presentation skills Management experience preferred Experience with Windows ’95, Word, Excel, Scheduler and working with databases.
