Job Summary

This position will assist with processing sales and use tax returns, food and beverage tax returns, liquor tax returns and sales tax audits. The position requires great organizational skills and a high level of accuracy.

Your Key Job Functions

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly tax returns in 44 states
  • Review returns for variances and research discrepancies
  • Process payment detail files and upload them to the GL
  • Monthly review of asset purchases for use tax accrual and process journal entry
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with local sales tax audits, License Compliance, and other miscellaneous compliance audits
  • Assist with preparation and pulling of state sales tax audit information
  • Obtain tax clearances for the Legal Department
  • Complete periodic alcohol beverage reports and affidavits and other special filings
  • Manage and organize tax-exempt documentation received from restaurants in     hard-copy format and monitor exempt email accounts
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team

  • College degree (Accounting preferred) at least 2 years of accounting/tax experience
  • Moderate knowledge of state and local sales and use tax
  • Experienced with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Must be extremely organized to meet deadlines.
