Job Summary

Chili’s is looking for a strategic and experienced storyteller to assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of public relations strategies. The Public Relations Manager will work cross-functionally on exciting campaigns from launching new tequila cocktails with celebrity partners to celebrating the brand’s rich history and iconic Baby Back Ribs Jingle in new and interesting ways.

 This person will be tuned in to what brands are doing to be relevant in culture with an understanding of what news will resonate with reporters. They will be a collaborative, self-starter responsible for creating productive relationships with key stakeholders in other marketing disciplines as well as other functional areas of the business to achieve successful development, integration and execution of PR communication plans.

 This person’s time will be spent building relationships internally and externally, mining for story opportunities, creating media materials, assisting with strategy development and proactive media outreach to support business priorities and build/maintain brand awareness while keeping a pulse on the latest news, trends and reporters. 

Core Responsibilities/Skills

·        Support Sr. PR & Communications Manager with the creation and execution of PR campaigns, sharing stories across the organization and measuring results.

·        Work closely with teams across the organization and agency partners to execute against integrated brand campaigns, projects and initiatives.

·        Partner with Investor Relations, Social/Marketing, Internal Communications and other departments to work cross-functionally and effectively plan and integrate PR initiatives.

·        Lead the monitoring of media outlets for company and competitor news; stay informed of key issues and trends impacting the industry and distill meaningful insights from media coverage; proactively share relevant findings internally

·        Provide knowledge and insights on new and emerging media, spokespeople and trends to develop and implement effective PR/Communications strategies.

·        Write and edit creative, compelling content maintaining brand voice, such as press releases, pitches, media alerts, media backgrounders and talking points to effectively tell the brand’s story.

·        Establish and maintain relationships with targeted media to support storytelling and company objectives; pitch targeted media/outlets for editorial coverage; coordinate interviews between media and subject matter experts.

·        Manage media hotline and inbox requests

·        Drive PR/Communications measurement, coverage tracking, and analysis of programs and initiatives based on key performance indicators. Provide recommendations and actionable insights that optimize results for future initiatives.

 What You Bring to the Team

·        5+ years of PR/Communications experience or 6-7 years if coming from creative agency side. Excellent understanding of public relations, branding and communications principles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Experience and understanding of integrated marketing efforts, including knowledge of new social media trends and pop-culture moments

·        Strong project management and presentation skills

·        Ability to thrive in dynamic fast-paced environment

·        Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a cross-functional team environment

·        Experience managing outside agencies

·        Self-starter and team player, assertive, highly collaborative, go-getter with high energy and desire to drive the business

·        Restaurant experience preferred, but not required

·        Bachelor’s degree required

·        Travel limited
