Job Summary

Supports Brinker's Safety and Loss Prevention programs by providing direct support to the brands through a combination of risk assessment, operational engagement, and effective solutions.  Identifies loss trends and finds solutions to mitigate loss frequency and severity.  Integrates Safety and Loss Prevention best practices into the company's culture by establishing strong relationships with operations and Restaurant Support Center (RSC) departments.  Maintains a strong presence in the field through site visits and participation in regional meetings.  Manages Safety and Loss Prevention programs both in the field and at the RSC. 

Your Key Job Functions

  • As directed, Implement and execute the company's Injury & Illness Prevention program and Hazard Communication Program.
  • Utilizing department reporting packages and ad-hoc analysis, identify loss trends in assigned area, communicating with operations as appropriate and incorporating findings into training materials and meeting agendas.
  • Evaluate business and operational risks to determine exposures to loss and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Impact Sales and Profits by assisting business owners in mitigating exposures so that initiatives can roll forward.
  • Research, develop, and test design, behavioral, equipment, and process improvements in conjunction with applicable RSC departments as directed by supervisor.
  • Manage vendors/supplier partners to ensure quality of products and services to operations as relates to Safety and Loss Prevention.
  • Conduct field testing and solicit feedback as appropriate.
  • Ensure company is compliant with OSHA/Regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate OSHA complaints/reports as needed.
  • Identify, develop, and lead brand Area and Regional Safety Champions.
  • Partner with outside broker/consultants as available.
  • Maintain field presence through participation in training sessions, GM/AD meetings, on-site visits, etc.
  • Serve as point of contact for boiler inspections, following up to exceptions as applicable.
  • Establish rapport and build relationships with both internal and external business partners.
  • Return calls for assistance within 24 hours.
  • Complete additional projects and assignments as requested by supervisor.

What You Bring to the Team

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional certification a plus (CSP, ARM).
  • User level familiarity with Risk Management Information Systems (claims handling software) required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations as relates to the restaurant industry.
  • Strong platform training skills.
  • Ability to build trust and create a sense of belonging for internal and external stakeholders 
  • Proven ability to solve problems and drive for results 
  • Self-starter with strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
