Job Summary
The Manager, Licensing is generally responsible for resolving applicable licensing issues within their designated territory including being responsible for obtaining new alcohol licenses and operational permits, renewing existing alcohol licenses and operational permits, resolving alcohol license violations, coordinating the alcohol licensing and operational permit requirements for special events and advertising promotions, and other related matters. Licensing Managers work closely with individuals at all levels throughout the organization, across functions and with governmental agencies and outside counsel.
Your Key Job Functions
- Prepares alcohol license applications for new restaurants.
- Provides guidance on alcohol licensing issues including marketing questions and M&A transactions.
- Investigates and resolves alcohol related violations to avoid revocation or suspension of licenses and to reduce where possible the imposition of fines.
- Processes alcohol license renewals for existing restaurants.
- Processes officer and manager changes.
- Prepares and submits operational license renewals.
- Stays apprised of new and existing governmental regulations and restrictions governing the sale, distribution, and use of alcoholic beverages.
- Monitors status of suspended licenses.
- Handles disposition of suspended licenses.
- Maintains and updates License Database.
- Maintains and updates license files, process related expenses and manage distribution of licenses.
- Handles licensing of special projects and special events.
- Maintains and update various licensing documents (i.e. Manager Update, General Questions, Special Events, etc.) and procedures.
- Establishes and maintains a positive rapport with state, county and local governmental agencies.
- Provides guidance on operational permit issues.
- Prepares operational permit applications for new restaurants. (e.g., business licenses, etc.).
- Obtains Highway Logo signs.
- Prepares and submits highway logo sign renewals.
What You Bring to the Team
- High School graduate and some college preferred.
- Minimum 3 years licensing experience with licensing acquisitions, renewals and compliance in the hospitality or retail industry.
- At least 2 years legal experience in a large corporate environment.
- Self-motivated with strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize time/a sensitive workload and the ability to solve problems.

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence effectively with both with internal and external stakeholders.
