Job Summary
This role is a director level role for an attorney and will sit within the legal department. At this time, it is not anticipated for this role to have any direct reports, rather the role's primary focus will be on negotiating new lease agreements to support the real estate growth strategy of opening 30+ new Chili's restaurants per year.
This role is based in Dallas (Coppell), TX and follows a hybrid schedule (3 days in office). We are currently focused on local candidates or those open to relocating to the area at their own expense. At this time, we are unable to provide sponsorship support.
What You'll Do
- Drafting and negotiating lease agreements for new restaurants - Drafting and negotiating lease amendments, purchase and sale agreements and other documents to support managing the portfolio of the Brinker restaurant properties - Reviewing real estate documents to advise on strategy, lease obligations or lease disputes - Supporting the real estate legal team on an as-needed basis.
What You Bring to the Team
JD from an accredited law school and license to practice law in at least one state
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a focus on retail or restaurant leasing
Problem solving - ability to think forward to anticipate risks and opportunities and find business-minded solutions -
Efficiency - ability to manage a portfolio of working lease agreements and other related documents simultaneously -
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
